Back at it.

I’m planning on posting here again for a bit. I know, it’s been a minute. A lot has happened since my last update, I’ve deleted my portfolio site as I was getting hustled for way too much money for hosting every year. Good news though! I plan on having a new one up soon and I’m excited to explore the possible platforms for it. I’m most familiar with WordPress and will most likely keep it there. However, I’m also familiar with Wix, Drupal, Shopify, etc.. I’m hoping to update the pages on this blog in my menu as well according to the various NDA’s I’ve signed over the last few years. Either way, here are a some more traditional pieces I’ve done in the recent past, I hope you enjoy them.

Just a quick example of how to take something I hand drew, fully redo it in Adobe Illustrator using the pen tool, and turn it into a vector graphic. I did this design for an acquaintance who was running a disc golf tournament. It wound up being featured on a few professional player Instagram accounts.

Kent Detective

A buddy of mine does excellent photography. When I heard he needed a watermark, I took it upon myself to come up with one. His Instagram handle is @kent_detective so I decided to role with that. Let me know what you think!

 

 

Play It Forward

I designed a poster for a benefit concert a while back. I enjoyed using the drumsticks to create the “L”. The use of arrows throughout the layout also maintain a “forward” theme while providing a nice design element.

10th Ave Productions Logo

I was asked to make a logo for 10th Avenue Productions. The logo did not end up being implemented in to their branding and I’m not entirely sure if they are still around but I do enjoy the aesthetics of this logo.

 

New Portfolio Site

From Blues to Rock

I created this poster for a friend who recently had a friend of theirs lose their house to a fire in the deep freeze of January. They’re having a benefit at The Lodge in Robbinsdale and they needed a poster.

Monster Drawings

My friend and her daughter came over tonight. We had just under 30 minutes to draw our monsters before it was bedtime. Not bad for such short notice.

 

New Painting

It was our 1st unofficial anniversary last week marking 8 years together. Here’s a quick lesson in being a good husband: paint your wife cool paintings and get her Queens of the Stone Age concert tickets.
